We offer both preschool and elementary classes.
Preschool classes are made up of 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds and 5-year-olds, and are offered in three sessions--morning, afternoon, or a double session, which is a full school day. Kindergarten students attend double session.
There are two elementary classes, also grouped by age. First graders are in their own group, and second through fifth graders study together in a second class.
Preschool
Morning session 8:45 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Afternoon session 12:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Double session 8:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Elementary

Transportation
Transportation to and from Hayfield is the responsibility of parents.
Drop-off and Pick-up Times
The drop-off time for students begins fifteen minutes before the school session starts. Pick-up time ends fifteen minutes after the school session ends.
Lunch
Double session students, kindergarteners, and elementary students must bring their own lunches. Each child’s teacher will advise his or her parents about lunch requirements such as the required lunchbox, appropriate containers and food suggestions.
Snack
In the preschool classes, each student takes a turn providing a week or two of fresh fruit or vegetable snacks for their class. Your child’s teacher will provide you with a schedule showing who is responsible for snack each week of the school year.
Child Care
Child Care is available before and after school hours on days when school is in session. Child care can be used on an as-needed basis. Charges for child care are applied in 15-minute increments: $1.50 per 15 minutes; $6.00 per hour.
Before-school child care is available from 7:30 a.m. until school starts.
After-school child care is available from the close of pick-up time to 5:30 p.m.
If you know your child will stay for child care please send a snack, labelled “Child Care,” for your child that day in your child’s lunchbox. If breakfast is to be eaten in child care before school, please send that, also appropriately marked, in your child’s lunchbox, as well.
Documentation
Hayfield requires a certified copy of a birth certificate and a current Standard Kentucky State Medical Form for each enrolled student prior to the first day of school. Medical forms must be updated each year to reflect accurate immunization status.
Observation
We encourage all prospective parents to come and observe Hayfield students at work. Because of our weekly enrichment activities schedule, Tuesdays and Thursdays are often the best days for scheduling in-class observations. Call the office to schedule an appointment .
We encourage all parents of students currently attending Hayfield Montessori to observe their children at school. As well as in
class observation opportunities, some classrooms have observation rooms that are accessible throughout the school day.
Hayfield Montessori Parents’ Association
We have a very active parents’ association. Each family is assessed dues of $50.00 per year, payable to the Hayfield Montessori Parents’ Association by August 1st.
